Use Shopify sales
to inform your
ad decisions.

Bring Shopify sales into the same investigation as your campaigns. Understand the store context before deciding which advertising opportunity to pursue.

Connect your store

A product worth investigating?

Look at the store and the campaign together.

Product-day sales, quantities and order status
Ad evidence
Campaign context and verified product mappings
Business limits
Your margin, stock and fulfillment constraints

Illustrative analysis path. Sales alone do not prove an ad caused them.

Start with a product question.
Follow it through the data.

Connect the relevant sources.

Establish the Shopify store link and advertising account connections. Confirm which order, product, and campaign datasets are available.

Ask a product-level question.

Investigate sales by product and reporting period, alongside the available advertising evidence. Check identity mappings and date definitions before comparing sources.

Turn the finding into a proposal.

Where the evidence and controls support it, consider Shopping product inclusion, exclusion, or a bounded product test. Review the business implications before execution.

Put a product question next to the sales evidence.

Store context helps you decide what to investigate in your campaigns.

Which products should I look at before our next ad review?

From store context to a campaign proposal.

Investigate campaign opportunities

Use connected ad evidence to explore Search, Shopping, and creative questions. A product selling well does not by itself prove its ads are incremental.

Opti’s catalog includes product-serving reviews, Shopping inclusion and exclusion, and product test designs with explicit prerequisites.

Store linking requires workspace administrator access. Analysis depends on completed data syncs and available datasets. Opti proposals require Opti to be enabled for your workspace.

Get the definitions right.

Use these checks with your team before acting on an analysis.

Agree on what “revenue” means.
Check currency, timestamps, discounts, financial status, and refund treatment. Order data alone does not establish audited contribution profit.
Connect the same products.
Verify Shopify, catalog, and advertising product identifiers. Similar product names are not enough to establish a match.
Bring the constraints from the store.
Confirm current purchasability, margin, stock, and delivery limits before recommending additional paid demand. Do not assume those inputs are complete.
Compare like with like.
Use compatible periods and explain attribution differences. Platform conversion totals and store orders need not match one-to-one.

What you’ll need

  • A connected Shopify store with available order and product data.
  • Relevant ad accounts and verified product/feed mappings.
  • Your current margin, stock, fulfillment, and promotion constraints.

A few things to know.

Can MAI guarantee profit-level reporting from Shopify?

No. Accurate profit analysis depends on verified cost, discount, refund, and other business inputs. Financial-status information does not establish a complete profit or refund-adjusted revenue model.

Will MAI automatically change my store?

The workflow described here uses store context for advertising analysis. Store operations such as changing prices, discounts, or inventory require separately verified capabilities and authorization.

Do Shopify sales prove an ad campaign caused them?

No. Observed sales and attribution are different from causal incrementality. Recommendations should explain the available evidence and its limits.

Availability and limits

Store linking requires workspace administrator access. Analysis depends on completed data syncs and available datasets. Opti proposals require Opti to be enabled for your workspace.

Store analysis is not store administration. This page does not imply that MAI automatically changes Shopify inventory, discounts, fulfillment, or checkout. Published product-day sales are not refund-adjusted. Refund-status filters can exclude an entire order; they do not calculate the refunded amount.
